Ubicación de la universidad
Located in southwestern France, the city of Toulouse is the capital of the Haute-Garonne department and the Occitanie region. The city sits on the banks of the Garonne River, which flows through its center, and is also connected to the historic Canal du Midi—one of Europe’s most significant waterways. Toulouse is not a coastal city and does not overlook any sea; the nearest coastline is the Mediterranean Sea, located more than 150 km to the southeast. Visitors can enjoy numerous attractions in
the city, such as Place du Capitole, the Basilica of Saint-Sernin, the Jacobins Convent and Church, Pont Neuf, the Musée des Augustins, and the Japanese Garden in Compans-Caffarelli Park. Many recreational activities are also available, including strolling along the Garonne River, visiting public parks and gardens, exploring museums and art galleries, and attending cultural events and festivals. The city is home to various museums, theaters, art galleries, historic landmarks, and green spaces, including the Musée des Augustins, the Cité de l’Espace (Space City), Théâtre du Capitole, Théâtre Garonne, Les Abattoirs art gallery, Bonfon Gallery, the Jacobins Convent, the Capitole building, the Japanese Garden in Compans-Caffarelli, and the Grand Rond Gardens, in addition to numerous cinemas, libraries, and vibrant public squares. Toulouse also hosts several prestigious universities, such as Toulouse 1 Capitole University, Toulouse 2 Jean Jaurès University, Toulouse 3 Paul Sabatier University, the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (INP Toulouse), and the ISAE-SUPAERO Institute of Aeronautics and Space. The city offers a well-developed transportation network that makes it easy for students to move around, including metro lines, buses, trams, trains, public bicycles, boats, and canal routes. It is also served by two airports: Toulouse–Blagnac International Airport and Toulouse–Lasbordes Airport. Throughout the year, Toulouse hosts numerous festivals and cultural events such as the Festival de Toulouse and the Spanish Film Festival. The city attracts thousands of visitors annually from all over the world.
