On the coast of the Red Sea and near the border with Yemen lies the city of Jizan with its 1.5 million inhabitants. Agriculture thrives in Jizan due to the fertile soil and plentiful water table, though the area is best known for Jazan Economic City where industry, manufacturing, and energy-related businesses continue to grow. n side of the city sits Jizan Heritage Village where visitors can experience the art and architecture of days gone by, shop in a recreated historic souk, watch craftsmen at work, and admire the displays of genuine artifacts. Each year the Heritage Village hosts the Jizan Winter Festival, allowing visitors to the modern city to taste life in ancient Arabia.
