Sakakah is an up-and-coming city of a quarter million. In the past, it was a small oasis town that provided respite to traveling pilgrims and merchants. Today, the government has breathed new life into the area with constructions projects, hospitals and medical centers, and, most prominently, Al Jouf University. tle, Marid Castle, and the mysterious Rajajil Columns that date back to 4 BCE. Lake Dumat al-Jandal is the only natural lake in all of Arabia, providing water to the area's olive and date crops as well as enjoyment and beauty for residents.
