Illinois College is a private, liberal arts college, affiliated with the United Church of Christ and the Presbyterian Church (USA). It was founded in 1829, served as the state's first medical school from 1843–1848, and then became co-educational in 1903.
Illinois College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Academically, it offers over 80 different programs and majors; in addition to many optional minor programs.
