The University of Mediterranean Karpasia (UMK), established in 2012, is a private university founded in North Nicosia, Northern Cyprus. The university consists of 4 faculties; Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Tourism & Hospitality Management and Faculty of Air Transportation; in addition to the Institute of Social Sciences. Furthermore, UMK has a school of foreign languages which aims to develop students’ language skills as well as their personal, intellectual and social growth. Beyond educational matters, students of UMK can also fulfill their social interests by getting engaged in different activities and clubs such as; the tourism club, the cinema and theater
club, the dance club, the photography club, the culinary arts club and more. There are also other services including a library and an information center.
Northern Cyprus is the Turkish part of the eastern Mediterranean island of Cyprus, divided between Turkey and Greece since the late–20th century.
